China - Beijing



Beijing, the Capital of the People's republic of China, former known as Peking. As mentioned earlier, it's full of contradictions, amazing things to see, but full of unfriendly people, and so backwards, compared to even undeveloped countries like Cambodia or Vietnam.
Almost nothing work for foreigners!
Even asking people, on the streets, for a trashcan, they will just point to the ground, like its cool to throw garbage on the streets.
The Sights though are amazing, and worth a few days of the other hassel.
Sights like The Forbidden City, The Imperial Palace, The Temple of Heaven, The Summer Palace, The Temple of Confucius and Tiananmen Square, best known for the the 1989 Tiananmen Square student protests. But there's lot of other also places like Beihai Park and National Stadium, worth seeing.
And a must of cause is doing the day tour to the Great wall. ​

Forbidden City



This complex, dates back to 1420, when it was finished after 14 years, the complex consists of 980 buildings, and were declared a World Heritage Site in 1987. It houses the Palace Museum, and was the former Chinese imperial palace from the Ming dynasty



Summer Palace



The origins of the Summer Palace date back to the led Jin dynasty in 1153.
there's a lot to see, but the really breathe taking scenery is on the top, just be aware it's a steep climb, with a huge amount of stairs, before you reach the top.



Tempel of Heaven



The Temple of Heaven complex, was constructed from 1406 to 1420, simultaneously with the Forbidden City, during the reign of the Yongle Emperor.
​The Temple of Heaven was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.



Tiananmen Square



This big public square, is well known around the world for the Student riot back in 1989, Also known as the Tiananmen Square Massacre, Peaceful protest for democracy, ended with troops armed with assault rifles and tanks fired at the demonstrators. Estimates death toll vary from several hundred to several thousand.
The square is surrounded by things as National Museum, Monument of the People's Heroes, Mao's Mausoleum and more.



Around Beijing



Beijing is a nice place to wander around, as long as you do not have to get in contact with any of the people there, lots of small streets and other photogenic stuff to see.
