Nepal is a real mountain republic, no less than 10 of the worlds 16 highest mountains are located in Nepal, Most famous is of cause Mount Everest, world's highest, Nepal is located in Himalaya, the Capital is Kathmandu, with just under 700.00 inhabitants, of the country's 26 Million. Nepal is what we call a third world country, really poor, even though the mountains should give them some tourists.
Even if your not a climber, the country is really worth a visit, Kathmandu is an interesting capital, totally different from the big metropolis in other asian countries. Still old fashioned, in every way, and very pictoristic. and just a few hours drive from the capital, you can find yourself in the middle of the jungle, with a slight chance to see tigers. (we saw a glimt of one on our trip) Been a while since i were there, but looking forward to visit again to see how much have changed.
